We have always helped our clients consider the benefits of universal design and accessibility.

We work with many clients to make modifications to their existing homes so they can enjoy living comfortably in their homes. These projects range in scope from remodeling kitchens and bathrooms, installing ramps, widening doorways, installing grab bars, and adding other safety features.

In addition to ensuring safety and functionality in accordance with ADA regulations, we also consider the design and visual aesthetics for your comfort and enjoyment today, as well as boosting the home’s longer-term market value.

We are proud to be certified and approved by the State of Minnesota to work with the CADI Waiver Program.

The CADI Waiver Program helps ensure aging adults and people with disabilities remain in their homes by funding physical adaptations to their home to ensure their health and safety and/or enable them to function with greater independence.

We will consult with you about your unique needs.

Whole Builders will help improve your home’s functionality by providing handicap accessible home renovations in important places like the bathroom and kitchen, as well as adjustments throughout the entire house.

Safety and independence are top concerns when undertaking household renovations to support greater independence for seniors and people with disabilities or limited mobility. We can assist with a variety of home modifications, such as:

Bathroom

  • Installing grab bars and handheld shower heads.
  • Enabling direct walk or roll-in shower entry.
  • Installing a toilet with a higher seat height and grab bars.
  • Opening space beneath the sink so a wheelchair can roll underneath it.
  • Equipping the sink and doors with easier to use lever-type handles.

Kitchen

  • Adjusting sink, stove, cabinet and counter-top height for improved ease of use.
  • Installing ADA-approved appliances or appliance with controls that are easy to read and easy to reach.
  • Customize cabinets for easy access to kitchen storage.
  • Utilize an anti-scald faucet with a single lever
  • Install counters with rounded corners, not sharp edges.
  • Open space under the sink to allow for a wheelchair or seated user.

Other areas of the house

  • Add an entry ramp or lift for seamless access to the home
  • Widen door frames and hallways, or move to a more open layout overall.
  • Adjust the placement and height of light and electrical switches.
  • Install solid flooring with minimal thresholds between rooms/surfaces.
